This privacy statement (the “Privacy Policy”) explains the data collection and use practices of 4iD Education Ltd., (the “Company” or “We” or “Our”) regarding your use of the website http://www.gingertiger.net/en and any site or application that replaces, supplements, or supersedes the foregoing (the “Site”), and all the associated services, games, features and forums (the “Services”).
As we update and expand our services, this Privacy Policy may change. It is your responsibility to check this Privacy Policy periodically for changes. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes acceptance of those changes. By accessing the Site, you consent to our information practices.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PRIVACY POLICY IS ATTACHED AS A SEPARATE POLICY AND NOT AS A POP-UP WINDOW. THIS IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE SITE ALSO PROVIDES SERVICES TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND POP-UP WINDOWS MAY MAKE IT DIFFICULT FOR SOME PEOPLE TO ACCESS THE SITE.
Capitalized terms not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meanings given in our Terms of Use.
Information Collected
We, like many companies, may collect the following information:
Personal Information. “Personal Information” means any information that we could use to identify an individual. We may request information such as your email address, name, password, user name and country. This information is used for you to open an account with us. You may also give us Personal Information when you correspond with us by e-mail or otherwise.
Other Information:
With regard to each visit to the Site we may automatically collect the following information:
- Technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect a computer to the Internet, login information (for School Accounts, this does not include any student name or email address), browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other information;
- Information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through and from the Site (including date and time); knowledge you viewed or searched for; page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page.
We use Google Analytics on the Site. Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google that collects usage data using various technologies such as cookies. We use Google Analytics only to analyze how the Site is used, in order to prepare reports on the Site’s activities and to improve the Site. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, and we have turned off Google’s advertising features, such as Google Signals and ads personalization. Some pages of the Site display a Facebook Like button provided by Facebook. For more information please review Facebook’s data policy.
Except as described above, we use the data set forth in this section in aggregate form (the “Aggregated Data”), and as such, such Aggregated Data does not personally identify you. However, if we combine Aggregated Data with Personal Information, it will be treated by us as Personal Information and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Cookies: Like many other websites, we use cookies. “Cookies” are small text files that contain data and are stored on your Device to allow the Site to recognize you when you visit. The use of Cookies helps us to give you a more personalized experience in the Site and Services. It is possible to switch off the Cookies using the settings on your browser, however, this may result in loss of functionality when using the Site (for example our Site won’t be able to recognize your Account without Cookies). School and Student Use
This section applies when the Site and Services are accessed through a subscription held by a school, kindergarten, district, or other educational institution (a “School Account”), including where students use a shared school login. Where this section differs from the rest of this Privacy Policy, this section prevails for School Accounts.
Shared school login. Students access the Services through a login provided by the school. We do not create individual student profiles, and we do not request or collect student names, email addresses, or other direct student identifiers as part of normal school use.
Educational purpose only. Information collected from or generated through student use of a School Account (including technical information and usage activity) is used only to provide, secure, support, and maintain the educational Services for the school. It is not used for advertising, targeted advertising, remarketing, profiling, building audiences, or any other commercial purpose, and it is never sold or rented.
Aggregated usage data for site analysis only. For School Accounts, we use only aggregated usage data (such as pages viewed and general usage patterns) for the purpose of analyzing and improving the Site. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not use advertising or remarketing tools in connection with student use. We use Google Analytics for this analysis, only for analysis of Site usage, and we have turned off Google’s advertising features (such as Google Signals and ads personalization).
Third-party content. Some pages of the Site display a Facebook Like button provided by Facebook. Information that Facebook receives through the button is handled under Facebook’s own data policy. We do not use the button to collect information from students, and we do not use it for advertising or remarketing. We do not use the Facebook Pixel on the Site.
School control. For School Accounts, the school decides how the Services are used with its students, and we act as a service provider to the school. On request of the school, or when the school’s subscription ends, we will delete or return information associated with its School Account, subject to applicable law.
Security incidents. If we become aware of an unauthorized access to or disclosure of information associated with a School Account, we will notify the affected school without undue delay, and will cooperate with the school’s response, in accordance with the data privacy agreement between us and the school, including the National Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA) where it applies.

How We Use the Information Collected
We only use Personal Information as permitted by law, most commonly we use the information if:
- We need to in order for us to perform the contract we have entered with you or are about to. We do not have or keep payment information for Subscriptions, as payments are transmitted through PayPal. Additional information about the PayPal payment system may be found on the PayPal website.
- It is necessary for our legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and your interest and fundamental rights do not conflict those interests.
- We need to in order for us to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.
- We want to seek your view or comments on the Services and/or notify you of changes in our Services (only if you registered to our newsletter as detailed below).
We may share your Personal Information with third parties who provide us with services such as hosting providers, data storage providers, accounting agency and other service providers (“Service Providers”). We will share only such Personal Information that is necessary for the Service Providers to deliver their services and in strictly limited circumstances.
We may also disclose your Personal Information to third parties (as part of the information commonly contained in business) in the event of a sale of the business, or a restructuring of the business, or as otherwise required or permitted by the applicable law or regulator.
We may use Aggregated Data in order to adapt the Services to your needs, and to better tailor the features, performance and support of the Services. We do not rent nor sell the Aggregated Data to anyone. Aggregated Data and anonymous data may be shared with third parties for analytical or other purposes.
Your Personal Information (to the extent we have it) will be provided when legally required, or when reasonably necessary to prevent harm in an emergency situation. In all instances, we will share the minimum information necessary to meet the immediate need and inform you of our disclosure when legally and practically possible.
Newsletters
When you register for an Account, and you give your consent, we will use your name and email address to send you newsletters with useful information regarding our Services (such as new games coming out). You may, at any time choose to stop receiving these newsletters by following the “Unsubscribe” directions in the newsletters.
Data Storage and Security
Our Services and Site are provided globally and as such, subject to applicable law, your Personal Information and Aggregated Data (“Data”) may be transferred outside the country where you are located and where information protection standards may differ. We will do our best to ensure that the Data in transferred only after the appropriate safeguards are in place.
We are committed to protect your Personal Information and take physical, electronic and managerial security measures designed to prevent data loss, to secure the data and regulate access to it. However, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us or warrant that such measures will prevent unauthorized access to information about you that we store, and you do so at your own risk.
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and confidential. We ask you not to share your Account password with anyone and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your Account.
Data Retention
Your Personal Information shall remain stored with us for as long as your Account is active and for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Once your Account is inactive and/or you have ceased using our Services for more than two (2) consecutive years, we are no longer obligated to retain your Personal Information.
However, if you wish us to delete your Personal Information and/or Account, please follow the instructions in the “Your Rights with Regard to the Personal Information” section below.
Information Provided on Behalf of Someone Else
If you provide us with information that regards someone else (such as information regarding children under 18 or for the LMS System under the Site License Annual Subscription) you represent and warrant that you are entitled to do and to consent to this Privacy Policy on their behalf. For School Accounts, the school is responsible for its authority to permit student use of the Services.
Your Rights with Regard to the Personal Information
You have the right to know what Personal Information we store on you and have the right to ask us to rectify, change or delete it.
If you wish to access your Personal Information you can access it through your Account and make the appropriate amendments.
You can contact us directly through the contact details provided below and request us to change or delete any Personal Information that we have on you, subject to any applicable law exemptions. You can also ask us to delete your Account altogether.
Changes to the terms of this Privacy Policy
We will occasionally revise and change this Privacy Policy. In such case, if we believe the changes are material we will inform you of them by posting the changes on our Site or sending you an email. Changes will be effective upon the posting of them on the Site and your acceptance of them which may be through your continued use of the Site. In any event, you should review the Site periodically in order to stay up to date with our current policies and practices.
